Explore historical Narrandera for boutique shopping, dining, plan a heritage walk, or take a tour at one of the Shire’s museums. You can set out on a walk through the Flora and Fauna Reserve or Narrandera Wetlands, or relax at Lake Talbot, Lake Talbot Aquatic Park or by the side of the Murrumbidgee River. It is the ideal stop over as it is at the cross-roads of the Stuart & Newell Highways. Collect your free map from the Narrandera Visitor Information Centre (Cadell St, Narrandera) to plan your day. Some highlights include:

  • Bundidgerry Walking Track follows a scenic route along Lake Talbot and the majestic Murrumbidgee River.
  • Narrandera Rail Bridge on Augusta Street – An excellent photo opportunity, the bridge opened in 1885 as part of the rail line that ran south from Narrandera to Tocumwal on the Victorian border. This bridge is rare being one of only twelve iron lattice bridges installed across NSW rivers.
  • Hankinson Memorial Fountain – at the Memorial Gardens off East Street, Narrandera feature a ceramic Royal Doulton Fountain in honour of First World War servicemen.
  • Koala Reserve promotes the breeding of koalas in a reserve. With 200-plus healthy koalas the reserve, on the Murrumbidgee River, provides an ideal diet of River Red Gum leaves. Location: via Oakbank St.

Lake Talbot Tourist Park

Lake Talbot Tourist Park has accommodation available to fit any need. There are 19 cabins that sleep between 3 and 8 guests and over 100 powered, shady, grass or bitumen camping and caravan sites. Pet friendly.

Narrandera Caravan Park

Narrandera Caravan Park is situated at the junction of two major highways and is an easy overnight stay for travellers. Oakbank Brewery

Oakbank Brewery is a distinctive and prominent Narrandera landmark that stands 90-feet high beside the Murrumbidgee River, just off the Newell Highway. The tower represents an industry that had its heyday in the Riverina between the 1890s and mid-1920s.
